Spooky Cute!

Happy Halloween!

Although this is no longer one of my favorite holidays, back when the kids were little and when Mom ("Omi") made their costumes I absolutely loved Halloween!

That's Kat and Aleks as Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. I get all "mushy-mommy" just looking at this photo! (They were obviously so ready for a nap!)

I just don't know where the time went. This photo, with Elisabeth and Peter, was taken 18 years ago today, shortly before the twins were born (11/9/89). My friends begged me to paint my belly orange and put a jack-o-lantern face on it, but I was just so sick of being so huge and uncomfortable that I absolutely refused. Now I wish I'd done it!

Oh my goodness, my back aches for you just LOOKING at that last photo! But that one of Kat and Aleks is absolutely adorable - those eyes make this non-mommy all melty too!

OMG, how could you stand, much less walk, with that belly? It hurts just to look at it. The kids were adorable! I find it interesting that your parents rejected all things American when you were a child, but Omi made Halloween costumes for the grandchildren.

Adorable kids and I agree with everyone, you were HUGE. I think it might have been too scary for some people if you'd painted a jack o'lantern face on your tummy.

I'm surprised to see how light your twins' hair was when they were little. They seem to have such lustrous dark hair now.

Oh good gravy!! I thought I was heyuge with my last pregnancy. He was over 9 pounds and there's a picture of me taken right before he was born that defies description. I'm short so I really showed those 9 pounds. You got me beat, but I love the picture.

If it had been me, I probably would have said no as well.

How precious! (The first photo. I can't see the second one for some reason.)

For my first (two) Halloweens, I was a clown. But my absolute favorite Halloween costume was when I was a white-and-gold sparkly butterfly the year I was in kindergarten. If only they had let me wear the mask in school!

I turn 24 in December, by the way... so does that make me older or younger than Elisabeth?

Ha ha! What great photos and wonderful memories.

I think you looked better without a pumpkin on your belly. :-)
