Dad-oration: Then and Now

I've started on a new project: digitizing thousands of family photos taken over the past 25 years. It'll be an ongoing process for at least a few months, so brace yourselves -- you might be getting to know our family THEN as well as now!

I had to post these pictures of Peter and Tom, who have always been absolutely connected. I just love this picture taken when Peter was about four. If this ain't the look of love, I don't know what is!

Fast-forward a few years, and this is what you get:

I love going through old photos. Good luck.

It's so funny, because I can see C's expression towards his dad in both of those pics. C's a couple of years younger than Peter, but it's the same feeling.

hey, how are you going about the digitizing process?

Hi Jen,

I expect it to be tedious and time-consuming! Scan, assign to folder. Scan, assign to folder...

These are really precious. What a bond they both portray! (Your husband appears to me that he has a real dry sense of humor?)

Yeah...I need to fire up my scanner and get busy, too.

I am so impressed, what a project! I have boxes of pictures and have so many times thought about just organizing them prior to scanning to computer and it is too overwhelming. I have 400 pictures on my card in my camera right now that need to be developed I don't know how I do that!

It is fun to go through the old photos and all the memories that awaken with certain pictures. Have fun!

Darn, I was hoping you had a miracle fast-process for your scanning... I too have a mozillion old photo albums (dating back to my mother's youth!) and I've been procrastinating about scanning. But I want to give her a digital picture-frame full of a slide-show of photos for Christmas, so I guess I'd better get started.

Good luck with your project.
